About the program

The establishment of accounting major in Jiangsu university can be traced back to the "industrial accounting (college)" of the first batch of students in Jiangsu province in 1984. It was upgraded to "industrial accounting (undergraduate)" in 1985. "Foreign accounting" major was established in 1996. The course of “Accounting”, the core course of this major, was rated as "first-class excellent course in Jiangsu province in 1998. I was selected as a characteristic major in Jiangsu province in 2003. The course of "financial management", the core course of this major, was rated as "excellent course of Jiangsu province" in 2008.

The major has 21 full-time teachers, including 5 professors, 10 associate professors, 9 doctors (including 3 postdoctors). 8 teachers have the experience of overseas study or visiting abroad. It has 1 talent of the mechanical affiliated colleges and universities across the century academic backbone, 2 talents of "the blue project" outstanding backbone of Jiangsu province, 2 talents of middle-aged and young science and technology leader in "333 high-level personnel training project" of Jiangsu province, 2 talents of "333 project" breeding objects (level 3) of Jiangsu province, 1 talent of high-level talents cultivation object in "six big talent peak" of Jiangsu province, 1 talent of outstanding young backbone of Jiangsu university and 1 talent of construction outstanding contribution personal of Jiangsu university.

More than 60 percent of major teachers have professional backgrounds such as non-practicing certified public accountants (CPA), independent directors of listed companies, corporate financial advisers, tax advisers and so on.
