On April 4, coinciding with the Qingming Festival, the School of Finance and Economics organized a special cultural immersion event for its international students. The day began with an educational seminar where a professor from the Chinese Literature Department explained the festival's historical origins, blending themes of ancestral remembrance, the arrival of spring, and traditional outdoor activities. Following the lecture, students traveled to a nearby ecological park to participate in quintessential Qingming customs. They learned to make *qingtuan* (sweet green rice dumplings) with guidance from local volunteers and later took part in a serene, traditional kite-flying session on a sunlit field. The event provided a meaningful, hands-on understanding of a deeply rooted Chinese tradition, moving beyond textbook knowledge. For many students, it highlighted the intricate connection between cultural heritage, seasonal cycles, and family in Chinese society. The School organizes such events regularly to facilitate deeper cultural integration and to ensure international students gain a holistic, respectful appreciation of the local social fabric, enriching their study-abroad experience far beyond the academic curriculum.
