On December 1, the School of Finance and Economics and Kunsan National University held a cooperation and exchange symposium in Conference Room 1304D of Sanjiang Building, under the theme “Deepening Cooperation, Collaborative Innovation: Building a New Platform for China-Korea Educational Cooperation.” The two sides conducted in-depth discussions on a dual-degree joint undergraduate program (2+2) and multi-level student exchange initiatives, culminating in the joint signing of a Letter of Intent for Student Exchange Cooperation.

Attending the meeting from Kunsan National University were Professor Choi Myeong-hoon, Dean of the Institute of International Education; Professor Lee Jae-sik from the School of Music; and Mr. Kim In-kyun, Admissions Coordinator of the Institute of International Education. The Jiangsu University delegation included Professor Hu Xuhua, Dean of the School of Finance and Economics; Professor Yan Jun, Vice Dean; Professor Liu Qundong, Deputy Party Secretary and Vice Dean; Ms. Zhu Yanjie, Director of the International Education Office of the School of Finance and Economics; Ms. Zhang Xinyi, Section Chief of Cooperation and Exchange at the University’s International Office; and Ms. Chen Yushan, Director of the Belt and Road International Cooperation Office at the School of Overseas Education.

At the symposium, Dean Hu Xuhua extended a warm welcome to the visiting delegation and highlighted the School’s achievements in disciplinary development, talent cultivation, and internationalization. Dean Choi Myeong-hoon provided a comprehensive introduction to the distinctive characteristics, international cooperation framework, and academic strengths of Kunsan National University. The discussions focused on practical details for implementing the “2+2” dual-degree program, including curriculum alignment, mutual credit recognition, and tuition standards. Furthermore, both parties reached preliminary consensus on diversifying cooperation through models such as summer credit courses, semester exchanges, and joint supervision of graduation projects, while also exploring the potential establishment of a shared online course resource platform.
Witnessed by all attendees, Dean Hu Xuhua and Dean Choi Myeong-hoon formally signed the “Letter of Intent for Student Exchange between the School of Finance and Economics of Jiangsu University, People’s Republic of China, and the Institute of International Education of Kunsan National University, Republic of Korea” on behalf of their respective institutions. It was agreed that a joint working group would be established promptly to advance follow-up consultations on specific arrangements, including curriculum integration, student recruitment and selection, and management mechanisms, thereby facilitating the early implementation of the collaborative programs.

This exchange is set to further expand the School’s international network and provide students with increased access to high-quality overseas learning opportunities. Both sides expressed their commitment to leveraging this engagement as a foundation for continuously deepening practical cooperation in talent development and academic research, jointly dedicating efforts to cultivating high-caliber talents equipped with international perspectives and professional competence.
