On November 11, the School of Finance and Economics at Jiangsu University recently hosted its "Distinguished Scholar Forum," featuring Professor Luo Hong from the Graduate School of Business at Ewha Womans University, South Korea, as the keynote speaker. The lecture, titled "From Follower to Leader: A Study on the Catch-up Path and Organizational Ecosystem of Korea's Semiconductor and Display Industries," attracted over 50 faculty and student representatives and served as an important component of the ongoing academic exchange program between the two institutions.

During her presentation, Professor Luo Hong, leveraging her profound academic expertise and rich practical experience, provided an in-depth analysis of the successful journey of Korea's semiconductor and display industries. From the perspective of industrial economics, she systematically elaborated on how Korea transformed itself from a technological follower into a global leader by constructing a synergistic organizational ecosystem involving government, corporations, and research institutions. Professor Luo particularly emphasized that the distinctive Korean model of "government guidance, large corporation leadership, and industry-university-research collaboration," combined with strategic corporate courage in areas such as counter-cyclical investment, were pivotal in establishing Korea's current leading position in the global semiconductor industry.

The interactive session saw active participation from attendees, who engaged in deep discussions with Professor Luo on topics including technological innovation, industrial policy, and talent cultivation. The atmosphere was vibrant and academically stimulating.

This lecture represents a concrete measure in the School of Finance and Economics' continuous efforts to advance its internationalization strategy. Since the beginning of this year, the School has established cooperative relationships with several renowned overseas universities, aiming to broaden the international perspectives of its faculty and students and enhance the School's global standing through high-level academic lectures and joint research initiatives.
