On May 23rd, 2024, the School of Finance and Economics hosted the third batch of international students' master's thesis defense in Conference Room 1309 of Sanjiang Building. The defense committee comprised of Professor Wang Weidong, Associate Professor Li Wenchao, Associate Professor Wang Xin, Associate Professor Jinag Hongli, and Associate Professor He Dan. ABRO GNANBA JOELLE LOIC and other 4 students participated in the defense as master’s students.
In the presentation session, students introduced the background and significance of the thesis topic selection, research methods, logical structure, theoretical support, result analysis, conclusions and suggestions. After the students' presentations, the experts asked questions about the topic, research methods, logical structure, theoretical support, and writing norms of the paper, pointed out the problems existing in the paper, and put forward suggestions for revision.
During the presentation session, the students provided an overview of the background and significance of their thesis topic selection, research methods, logical structure, theoretical support, result analysis, conclusions, and suggestions. Following their presentations, the experts engaged in a discussion, asking questions about the topic, research methods, logical structure, theoretical support, and writing norms of the paper. They also identified issues within the paper and offered constructive suggestions for revision.
Finally, the defense committee conducted a comprehensive evaluation of the dissertation based on the criteria of thesis topic selection, fundamental knowledge and professional theory related to the student’s major, research methods and approaches, innovative design capability, overall quality and depth of the dissertation, and writing proficiency.

Through the meticulous coordination of the school’s thesis defense leadership and the collaborative efforts of all experts and staff, the 2024 first batch of international students’ master’s thesis defense at the School of Finance and Economics was concluded successfully.
